Duties: Associate with Goldman, Sachs & Co. in New York, NY. Function on a team that is responsible for drafting legally binding confirmations for OTC derivative transactions. Responsibilities include: Perform second checker review and/or drafting function of OTC derivatives. Identify risks inherent in daily business process and drive initiatives to design controls to mitigate risk while seeking Straight-Through-Processing (STP) workflows. Design and initiate process improvements with thorough understanding of template architecture. Work with internal groups (sales, trading, legal and compliance) to resolve issues impacting the confirmations drafting process. Partner with the Legal Department to agree upon appropriate templates for new structures. Monitor trade confirmation procedures, risk management and control processes. Assist with the operational workflow design in the launch of new products and instruments to ensure proper risk control in place and efficiency.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or equivalent) in Finance, Economics, International Business, Management, Accounting, Business Administration or a related discipline. 2.5 years of experience in the job offered or in a related position in finance. Prior work experience must include: Utilizing expertise in understanding OTC derivatives products, flows, and risk with concentration in equity derivatives; Drafting and reviewing structured products or legal documentation; Ensuring that legal confirmations accurately reflect trade agreements and are transmitted within the prescribed regulatory timelines; Safeguarding information to ensure client confidentiality and liaising with clientele; Liaising with technology and multiple financial operations groups to enhance processes and procedures and implement regulatory changes; Problem solving and analytical skills pertaining to confirmation discrepancies and exception management.
