Associate Front End Engineer – Seattle

One part designer. One part coder. A hybrid of sorts. But you are full-on when it comes to your front-line position creating dazzling user interfaces, new features, and bulletproof code. In this role, you’ll work with senior front end engineers to push your skills to the next level. You’re up for a challenge and excited to learn, but you don’t need a lot of handholding when it comes to getting the job done.

Work you’ll do
· Use the very latest HTML5/CSS3 technology to develop code alongside a team of developers (both front and back end, with different platform specialties) · Work closely with both external and internal clients, cross-functional teams on projects that range from a few weeks to a few months in length · Code, test, and troubleshoot software using the appropriate tools under the limited guidance of a lead engineer · Follow accepted coding standards and best practices, using agile software development methodologies · Assist in maintaining existing software systems, including bug fixes, enhancements, and miscellaneous maintenance · Demonstrate clear progress and a willingness to advance towards a more senior role · Use your expert communication skills to facilitate dialogue between internal and external clients and teams, as well as translating technical information, functionality, and limitations to non-technical teams Required Qualifications:

  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery
  • Understanding of mobile development best practices (i.e. responsive design)
  • Ability to code solid cross-platform experiences

Preferred Qualifications:
· Minimum 6 months experience coding semantically correct, standards-compliant websites with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery · Understanding of mobile development best practices (i.e. responsive design, progressive enhancement, graceful degradation) · 1 year of industry or consulting experience · Ability to code solid cross-platform experiences · Willingness to travel up to 10 percent How you’ll grow
