Position Overview:

Individual will rotate through multiple departments within at least two different plants to learn and understand the equipment and process of the machinery and culture of the company. Individual will ensure that all equipment is safe, provide technical support, assist with troubleshooting and process modifications. Individual will also learn and understand areas such as continuous improvement, commercial business, supply chain, quality and plant supervision which will aid in the understanding of all business operations.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Must be willing to rotate through different departments approximately every 6 months for 18-24 months and willing to relocate to another facility during this time.
  • Assists technical support services to pre-manufacturing, research and development, manufacturing and quality departments.
  • Works to continuously improve line productivity and improvements throughout the facility.
  • Participate and occasionally lead CI activities throughout the plant.
  • Assists with training other employees in troubleshooting skills, process modification methods, CI improvement, quality changes, etc.
  • Works closely with Research and Development of in order to successfully introduce new products into production.
  • Works with Supply Chain /Materials department to assist with inventory, shipments and change overs.
  • Works with Quality to identify and implement corrective or preventative measures to improve quality levels.
  • Assists with change-overs, start-ups, and mold cleanings to assist with meeting customer delivery and quality expectations. Ensures the safe operation of the line prior to releasing it to production.
  • Maintains accurate documentation on process runs, mold sets, line capabilities, screw conditions and barrel conditions.
  • Familiarization with the techniques of PET and or Polyolifin container manufacturing. Become familiar with process control & modification methods commonly used in plastics manufacturing.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree Engineering or a related technical field
  • Internship or prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Sets goals to drive for performance and an independent self-starter
  • Excellent relationship building skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Experience in packaging technologies or the plastics industry preferred
