Associate Buyer

Job Summary:

Buyer is responsible for procuring materials, services, components and supplies needed to ensure uninterrupted production and minimal inventory levels meet production targets in a safe and effective manner.

Essential Job Functions:

• Follow standard and company purchasing policies and procedures also enforce safety
• Coordinate the activities with Senior Buyer and Supply Chain Manager
• Secures bids and receives quotations on purchases as needed
• Fundamental knowledge of products purchased, good purchasing practices and policies, Material Requirements Planning (MRP) knowledge a plus
• Fills in for and backs up Senior Buyer in their absents
• Support procurement department as needed including but limited to, expediting, parts maintenance, vendor management & maintenance, RMA’s, invoice reconciliation, purchase order creation
• Support Engineering department with vendor selection, evaluation and procurement of material
• Keeps abreast of changes, developments, and new products in his/her area of responsibility and advises management of potential applicability
• Planning/forecasting material purchases
• Coordinate inbound & outbound freight shipments of purchased materials, inter-company transfers
• Determine and implement improvements to the procurement process
• Communicates and interacts with all team members company-wide in a positive fashion
• All other duties assigned

• High school or equivalent

Required experience:

• Buyer: 3 years
• Purchasing: 3 years
