Assistant Buyer

Hi, I’m Paige, an Associate Buyer on the eCommerce fabric team here at Craftsy.

To live up to our company’s mission, we are wholeheartedly committed to delivering a differentiated product assortment and premium merchandising experience to passionate Quilting and Sewing consumers. As an Assistant Buyer, you will play a critical role in shaping and executing our product assortments from collection conception to driving the site merchandising experience.

On any given day, you can find the Assistant Buyer:
Working closely with the category buyer to develop and execute against the product assortment strategy

Setting up, managing, and maintaining high volume SKU count to ensure data integrity for order management and reporting

Issuing purchase orders and negotiating/confirming order quantities and delivery dates with key suppliers

Contributing to product merchandising strategy with focus on optimizing consumer experience, driving sell page conversion and maximizing revenue

Partnering with the Creative team (i.e. designers and photographers) to provide excellent product representation with elevated copy and product images

Developing expertise around key product selling points and differentiators and effectively communicating such features to merchandising and marketing teams

Provide support with category data analytics & conduct scenario and ad hoc analysis focused on identifying business risks and opportunities

Here’s what we’re looking for in top candidates:
Bachelor’s Degree in Buying, Merchandising, Business or a related field

2+ years experience in Buying, ​Planning or ​Merchandising; prior eCommerce experience is highly desirable!

Proven analytical skills and enthusiasm for data-driven decision making, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g. vlookups, pivot tables, etc)

An understanding of financial measurements (sales, gross margin, measures of inventory productivity) and how to impact them

Clear and effective written and verbal communication

Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, timelines, and deliverables with strong organization skills and attention to detail
