Assistant Art Director

Virginia Living is seeking a full-time Assistant Art Director.

Virginia Living, a glossy, bimonthly magazine published in Richmond, is seeking a creative designer to assist the art director in producing award-winning layouts for a wide variety of stories including front of book departments and features.

The assistant art director will also work on photo shoots with a talented pool of photographers and stylists.The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of typography, a great eye for photography, color, photo retouching and the ability to create compelling magazine layouts and digital editions.

Requirements:

• Proficient in Adobe CC (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).

• Familiar with publishing processes and procedures (print and digital).

• Must have strong organization and communication skills.

• Ablility to work well in a fast paced environment, handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.

• Experience working in magazine publishing a plus.

• B.A. in Graphic Arts.
