Applications Systems Engineer 5 – eDiscovery

ITeDS (IT eDiscovery) is seeking a senior level Application Systems Engineer V to act as a team lead for our internal technology team. The candidate will be a critical part of a highly-qualified team of professionals possessing diverse and complementary backgrounds. This position is a development lead position. The position requires the need to understand both the business as well as new and existing technology in order to design /develop applications for IT eDiscovery Services.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provides coding direction and mentoring less experienced developers.
  • Writes, tests and validates code for an internal ASP.NET application.
  • Performs quality assurance on developer’s code to ensure that the code meets the business standard for quality, and accuracy.
  • Works with teams to coordinate training, resolve questions, assess user needs, and recommend changes to the code for the internally built application.
  • Acts as a lead in providing application design guidance and consultation, utilizing a thorough understanding of applicable technology, tools and existing designs.
  • Analyzes highly complex business requirements, designs and writes technical specifications to design or redesign complex computer platforms and applications.
  • Acts as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation and analysis efforts.
  • Verifies program logic by overseeing the preparation of test data, testing and debugging of programs.
  • Oversees overall systems testing and the migration of platforms and applications to production.
  • Develops new documentation, departmental technical procedures and user guides.
  • Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area and oversees creation of or updates to and testing of the business continuation plan.
  • Conducts unit testing and peer reviews of custom solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of application development and implementation experience
  • 7+ years of ASP.Net experience
  • 7+ years of VB.NET experience
  • 7+ years of MS SQL server experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to translate and present complex technical data across technical and non-technical groups
  • 2+ years of SharePoint administration experience
  • A BS/BA degree or higher
  • Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to make timely and independent judgment decisions while working in a fast-paced and results-driven environment

Other Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Azure Cloud
  • Experience with SQL Business Intelligence Development Studio (BIDS)
  • Experience with JQuery, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript experience in development technologies
  • Experience with web methods, web services, classes, modules
  • Experience with Subversion (SVN )/ Team Foundation Server (TFS) 2015
  • Knowledge of EDRM, legal hold, legal defensibility, fraud and eDiscovery data collections
  • Experience with Audit, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Regulatory, Technology, and Information Security
  • Experience in SQL including creating/altering tables, creating/altering stored procedures, functions, views, database design, database backup/recovery, SQL jobs, database maintenance
  • Strong SSIS experience including create/alter ETL packages, automating ETL packages
  • Strong SSRS experience including create/alter basic/advanced reports, report builder, create/alter report model
