Applications Developer III

Job Summary

Leads the development of cost-effective information technology solutions by creating new, and modifying existing, software applications. Analyzes complex systems requirements, existing business processes, and information systems. Codes, tests, and debugs documents, and implements software applications. Undertakes complex projects requiring additional specialized technical knowledge. Coordinates with users to determine requirements that are more complex.

An individual with hands on experience implementing “tags” on websites using a modern web Tag Management System (TMS). Examples of platforms include Adobe Dynamic Tag Management, Ensighten Manage, Tealium iQ, and Signal’s TMS.

Ability to work independently with multiple departments within the organization such as marketing, advertising, product, IT, vendors, and content professionals.

The role demands a multi-faceted individual with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical people while working on several efforts simultaneously. This individual will work with a Sprint technical lead and some vendor personnel to learn our platforms and implementations.

The ideal candidate possesses experience with JavaScript programming and preferably experience with web Analytics applications. Experience with digital Analytics and measurement is also beneficial.

THIS ROLE WILL WORK FROM OVERLAND PARK, KANSAS.This role will be the primary resource utilizing Sprint’s TMS platforms and will be a JavaScript programming resource who will develop and enhance Sprint’s custom Analytics implementation software. The individual will work to implement and maintain Sprint’s data management framework and ensure consistent data collection, management, and distribution implementations across Sprint’s websites.

On a day to day basis, the individual will need to work directly with the business analysts, product owners, front-end developers, and testers. In addition to the day to day activities, the developer will be called upon to troubleshoot data quality issues and code implementations.

Experience implementing and managing tags within a Tag Management System(TMS) such as Adobe Dynamic Tag Management, Signal, Google Tag Manager, Tealium, etc.

Experience in web / browser based technologies. Individual should have in depth knowledge of JavaScript, web browsers, and web page architecture. Working with cookies, etc… should be second nature.

Experience with tag-based Analytics applications, specifically with the Adobe Marketing Cloud and/or Google Analytics Premium 360 families of products. Familiarity with Tealeaf, Amazon Web Analytics, or other online experience measurement tools is a plus.

Experience in Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JSON and AJAX

Excellent coding and documentation skills.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and four years related work experience or eight years related work experience post high school

Three years systems development experience

Three years coding experience

Three years software application experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Source control management (merging and branching code) experience like GIT, CVS, SVN, etc.
  • Eclipse, IntelliJ or other IDE
  • Experience/knowledge using and building SDKs.
  • Experience with one or more leading JavaScript frameworks (TypeScript, jQuery, prototype.js, NodeJS, Sencha, Dojo, etc.)
  • Knowledge in basic Web and App Analytics is a plus.
  • Knowledge in mobile applications is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Tealeaf, Amazon Web Analytics, or other online experience measurement tools is a plus.
