Application Engineer

The Application Engineer role is responsible for seeking out, qualifying, and supporting the closing of strategic account and new business opportunities by leveraging Enercon’s strengths in contract product development and manufacturing of electronics-based systems. The Application Engineer position is a customer facing role.

Responsibilities

• Development of accounts penetration strategy supporting Enercon growth objectives
• Identification of potential accounts
• Maintains pipeline of new opportunities
• Establishes initial contact with potential accounts
• Creates interest in accounts to visit Enercon to learn more
• Secures quote opportunities for Enercon
• Identifies cost targets and other key objectives of customers
• Drafts quotes and proposals with Sales Management, Program Management and Product Development teams
• Leads strategy development around proposal presentation to customer
• Closes new business opportunities for Enercon in support of sales revenue targets
• Supports account activity after receipt of purchase order as directed

Job Requirements

• Proven success making cold calls and getting face-time appointments
• Brings in list of existing contacts to leverage for new business
• Possesses good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
• Must effectively work between multiple departments within Enercon to accomplish goals
• Ability to support overnight travel (one to two nights per week)
• Has reliable transportation to visit customers and travel to Enercon
• Must have good time management and organizational skills
• Must be a self-starter who has the ability to multi-task and prioritize activities
• Willingness to participate in applicable trade group networking opportunities
• Must have excellent presentation, public speaking, and written communication skills
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Strong plus – supporting similar services into the medical device, defense, and/or industrial space
• Strong plus – Located within reasonable proximity of the greater Boston area and Enercon in Maine

Educational Requirements

• Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Technology, or related degree
• Minimum of 5 – 10 years of experience in contract product development and/or contract manufacturing environment
