Depending on the qualifications of the candidate selected, this position will be filled at either the Analyst I or Analyst II level. The monthly salary range for the Analyst I is $3,666.67 to $5,041.71 and it is $4,356.42 to $5,990.08 for the Analyst II.

The hiring salary for Analyst I position is between $3,666.67 and $4,583.33 per month.

The hiring salary for the Analyst II position is between $4,356.42 and $5,445.50 per month.

Analyst I/Analyst II

In this position, you will perform a variety of analyses, studies, and research projects and participate in administrative and financial processes.

Essential Functions – the basic job duties an employee must be able to perform:

Perform a variety of administrative, operational, and analytical duties in support of the Sustainability and Support Services Division; complete studies and research projects; gather and analyze data; make recommendations; and prepare reports on conclusions

Track budgetary information monthly; track and analyze the City’s utilities expenditures; provide assistance in the development of assigned budget; collect and analyze financial data; utilize data tracking and reporting systems; and special financial analyses

Coordinate assigned services and project activities with other City groups, units, boards, committees, task forces, external organizations, and the general public

Assist in developing and implementing sustainability and ‘smart cities’ goals and initiatives; oversee assigned program activities and operations; evaluate effectiveness of program services; and design, prepare, and plan cost estimates and specifications for various initiatives

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
Knowledge of:
Methods and techniques of data collection, research, and report preparation

Rules, regulations, and policies affecting budgetary, fiscal record-keeping, and data-processing procedures

General sustainability principles

Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations

Ability to:
Prepare and analyze complex financial reports

Maintain detailed records and prepare professional reports

Analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, and make recommendations

Excel in a fast-paced environment

Communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing

Establish and maintain effective working relationships

Successful candidate will have:
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a field appropriate to assigned area of responsibility which may include finance, business administration, public administration, environmental studiesor related field

Possess, or obtain upon hire, and maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license

Successful Analyst II candidate will have:
Three years of full-time professional analytical, and/or budgetary experience, including experience specific to area of assignment.

Ideal candidates will also demonstrate:
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in a field appropriate to assigned area of responsibility which may include finance, business administration, environmental studies, public administration, or other related field

Experience working in a municipal government setting

Experience in public speaking and event coordination

Experience which demonstrates knowledge of municipal government budgets and finance

Experience which demonstrates the ability to manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously

Machines, Tools, Equipment, and Work Aids: Computer, printer, copier, telephone, and standard office equipment.

Specialized Computer Equipment and Software: Microsoft Office and PeopleSoft.

Additional Information

Physical Demands: Exerting up to 10 lbs. occasionally or negligible weights frequently; sitting most of the time.
