Analyst I, Comm & Private Bank Credit Analysis

Overview:

Perform critical and independent credit analysis for commercial credit requests and assist with loan portfolio management as directed. Strong analytical skills with an ability to communicate both in written and verbal form to peers, management, and lenders.

Role progression potential to Analyst II or Commercial Lender.

Key Responsibilities:

-Analyze credit requests for the Lending Staff with primary focus on financial and cash flow analysis, collateral, business and industry analysis under the assistance/guidance of Management and Lending Staff.

-Prepare loan presentation packets (credit memos) for credit requests, renewals, modifications, and reviews.

-Calculate appropriate risk ratings for commercial credits.

-Exhibit professional image and behavior and promote a positive and collaborative working relationship with all business support units.

-Maintain regular and predictable attendance in alignment with departmental/divisional policy.

-Attend training as assigned to improve professional performance.

Job Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting, finance or business administration

2. Strong organizational skills, analytical skills, and prioritization skills.

3. A good understanding of lending concepts, practices, procedures and documentation.

4. Strong computer skills and experience with MS Office products.

5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Must have the ability to converse with senior management, lenders, peers, operations, and technical staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Credit analysis experience or equivalent industry background desired.

2. Have a general understanding of accounting terms and principles.

3. Ability to read and interpret financial statements to include: Tax returns (both individual and business); Balance Sheet; Income Statement; Cash Flow schedules; Statement of Owner’s Equity.
