Otter Products is seeking an awesomely otterific skilled Accountant II at our beautiful Headquarters in Fort Collins, Colorado. The Accountant II will use general business knowledge to work cross functionally throughout the business to perform general accounting duties such as: tax, cost, fixed assets, general ledger, etc.

The ideal candidate for this role will be highly detail-oriented and organized, have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, have the ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines, have a proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels of employees and have the ability to adapt in our rapid changing work environment.

Responsibilities:
Enter, monitor and update cost standards

Periodic analysis of cost elements

Weekly review and closing of completed of material orders in the ERP

Periodic review of standards costs to actual production costs

Validate the cost of goods sold as part of month-end close including variance analysis

Prepare journal entries and participate in monthly close process

Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for review

Assist in maintaining and reconciling inventory accounts including inventory reserves and inventory held at 3 rd party locations

Perform ad hoc requests from the business and perform analysis as required

Work cross functionally to complete various tasks and duties

Coordinate physical inventory counts and oversee cycle counts

Participate in various accounting projects as needed

Other duties as required

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required. Advanced Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred. Minimum three years of accounting experience required. Experience in cost accounting preferred. CMA certification preferred.
