A Gas South Analyst is always looking for the ‘why’ behind the data and leveraging their intuition to guide their analyses. As a Gas South Analyst, you would play a critical role in business decisions, get to work closely with company leadership, and make a direct impact from day one.

Responsibilities:
Building and validating models from large datasets

Developing forecasts and predictions to drive business decisions and strategy

Making strategic recommendations for solutions to business problems

Improving operational and analytical efficiency

Supporting other teams within the organization by providing analytic insight

Providing clear interpretation of data and analysis to stakeholders

Qualifications:
Required

Bachelor’s Degree

Proficient in Microsoft Excel

Strong technical and quantitative skills

Solid understanding of data analysis, model building, model validation

Effective time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects

Preferred

Some programming experience or understanding of programming logic (VB, SQL, Python, etc.)

Experience with statistical or analytics software (SAS, R, etc.)

Advanced Data Analysis skills (Regressions, Monte Carlo Simulations, etc.)

Internship or prior relevant work experience

Excellent academic record with a quantitative math based degree

Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) or BI Tools

Gas South analysts are typically hired into one of the following departments:

Marketing:
Marketing analysts are focused on how to best acquire and retain Gas South customers by developing customer-level predictive models that inform campaign targeting and retention strategies.

Operations:
Operations analysts are focused on how to best serve Gas South customers by identifying and implementing business process improvements for a better customer experience.

Supply and Risk Management:
Supply and Risk Management analysts develop models to assess customer value and profitability, forecast loads, set prices, and estimate costs. The position is also responsible for managing daily gas procurement and mitigating risk through hedging and derivative instruments.
