Overview
All Analysts joining the T&TS North America platform will be expected to undertake a rotational training period. This will involve up to 3 assignments in the various T&TS business areas for a defined period of time (up to 6 months per assignment). Initial placement will be in hiring area with rotational assignments starting after a qualifying period to be defined with the management of respective team(s).

Through undertaking the rotational placements we aim to have all analysts trained and able to be functionally mobile across the T&TS North America group, thus widening career opportunities on the platform

Noted below is initial role placement

A Liquidity Specialist on the Deposit Desk at the Analyst level has broad responsibilities across LIA. Recognizing the need for someone at this level to develop knowledge and expertise across the entire Liquidity Product Continuum, with a focus on Time Deposits, the role includes acumen across several disciplines including, client management, phone sales, financial reporting and marketing. Ultimately, a Liquidity Specialist on the Deposit Desk will become fluent in managing a client conversation to source/increase/extend Time Deposit volumes (when appropriate) and be able to identify other deposit opportunities. It also requires the ability to execute/implement all TD deposits, deliver management reporting and ad-hoc analysis on the TD portfolio, support Product and Business Management with regular Financials preparation, support Liquidity Advisory on client management deliverables including preparing/framing pitch and proposal material for the entire Liquidity Product Continuum and help execute/implement all deposit ‘wins.’

Mission

  • Deliver seamless execution of Time Deposit bookings with an emphasis on strengthening client relationships and identifying opportunities to increase volume and/or extend tenor.
  • Act as a key resource for the various functions within Liquidity & Investment Advisory, providing client support for Liquidity Advisory, financial reporting/analysis support for Pricing & Strategy and Revenue Management.
  • Broaden Liquidity expertise to have a comprehensive understanding of the Liquidity Product Continuum including, product mix, volume/Net Interest Margin (NIM) drivers, and positioning for client sales.

    Roles and responsibilities

  • Client interface on the TD Deposit Desk, responsible for providing rate information to clients at various tenors and seamlessly booking deposits post-sale.
  • Build/strengthen client relationship to proactively increase volume/extend tenor with clients wherever possible.
  • Develop proficiency on all systems used (Cortex, Kondor, Bloomberg, 360T) to sell and execute TDs.
  • Develop broad Liquidity expertise across entire Product Continuum to support Liquidity Advisory with engagement/advice/sales of their respective clients, focusing on client pitch material, deal structuring, deal pricing and implementation.
  • Client management support in conjunction with Liquidity Advisory to ensure that all client pitch material, meetings, proposals and execution of ‘wins’ is handled professionally, timely and accurately. This responsibility includes ensuring that each member of the Deposits Desk is well versed in the Liquidity Product Continuum, has a full understanding of each client, maintains open and perfectly transparent dialogue with Advisory and is proactively moving to close opportunities whenever possible.
  • Ensure all Know Your Client (KYC) requirements are met and facilitate timely implementation of all Liquidity opportunities.
  • Deliver management reporting on Time Deposits for Balance Sheet financials, ad-hoc analyses, etc. to both Pricing & Strategy and Revenue Management functions within LIA/TTS. Liquidity Specialist will be asked to source data for analysis, interpret results and make recommendations to improve results.
  • In partnership with Product Management, ensure that TD offering is best in class from a product, technology, policy and procedures standpoint.

Technical Skills

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Math, Business, Economics etc
  • Understanding of short-term liquidity products including Treasury offerings as well as Cash Management offerings is helpful.
  • Understanding of the regulatory environment e.g. Basel III, mutual fund reform is helpful.
  • Advanced desktop skills
