Analyst

Job Summary

Under limited supervision, uses specialized knowledge and skills obtained through experience, training or certification to assist in collecting and analyzing data to evaluate impact of investment and allocation decisions on client performance. Communicate results with other functional areas to be used in client service and marketing.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Retrieve monthly custodian statements in addition to other relevant data/information needed to complete client reports
  • Responsible for monthly reconciliation and output of assigned portfolios
  • Data input and maintenance using Advent/APX
  • Researching data requests and interacting with custodians and money managers to resolve reconciliation/performance issues
  • Validating performance returns generated by APX versus individual money managers and mutual funds and troubleshooting discrepancies
  • Accurate and timely production of monthly/quarterly performance reports for client portfolios
  • Responsible for providing analytical and administrative support
  • Performing ad hoc requests as assigned
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications and Skills

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Experience in the finance industry using Advent’s Axys or APX system
  • Basic analytical and statistical modeling tools and techniquesSkill in:

Skill in:

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Problem solving sufficient to effectively analyze, research and resolve inquiries and issues in a timely manner
  • Operating standard office equipment and using required software application to produce correspondence, reports, electronic communication, databases and spreadsheets; including knowledge of performance measurement and investment analysis software (e.g., Morningstar, eVestment Alliance, Bloomberg)

Ability to:

  • Organize, prioritize, and manage tasks and projects to complete work efficiently
  • Work under pressure on multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
  • Communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing with internal and external clients and customers while possessing a wide range of knowledge and sophistication about investment products and processes
  • Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
  • Utilize service providers to accomplish objectives

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Finance, Economics or Business with a preferred minimum of two (2) years of related experience at a broker dealer or investment firm
