ALTERNATIVE INVESTMENT ADVISORY PROFESSIONAL AT BESSEMER TRUST

The Alternative Investment Advisory (AIA) group is seeking a thoughtful investment professional with a private markets investment background and client facing experience to join its team. The AIA professional will be an integral part of the AIA team at a leading multifamily office with a legacy of top tier client service. The AIA Professional will work closely with colleagues and client advisors to develop and implement customized alternative investment solutions for clients. The position is at the Associate Vice President level and will report to the Director of Alternative Investments Advisory.

Responsibilities:

• Support all aspects of the development of the AIA offering

• Participate in investment due diligence on alternative investment funds and co-investments (predominantly buyout, growth equity, venture capital, special situations)
• Work with colleagues and client advisors to develop alternative investment solutions for clients’ portfolios
• Research and remain current on financial markets and the wealth management industry to help generate ideas and input toward the platform’s development
• Develop and improve tools and processes for analyzing alternative investment portfolios
• Centralize data in research management system for research and analysis
• Facilitate responses to queries from clients and client advisors pertaining to alternative investments
• Develop and leverage a robust professional network of other leading institutional investors
• Assist with ongoing work and any special projects within Alternative Investments

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required, strong credentials preferred (MBA/CFA/CAIA)
• At least 3-7 years of relevant experience and/or experience researching and investing in alternative strategies with an emphasis on private markets
• Co-investing experience desirable
• High degree of comfort working in a flexible, entrepreneurial environment
• Superior oral, written and presentation skills, able to communicate analysis effectively
• Collaborative team member with intellectual curiosity and a passion for investing
• Knowledge of investment and financial theory, asset allocation, risk management and portfolio construction concepts
• Strong quantitative skills, including ability to write macros in Excel
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and FactSet (or similar data software)
