Administrative Assistant – Human Resources

Our Human Resources department is a dynamic team environment that provides outstanding customer service to our employees and students on campus.

We are looking for someone with integrity and a commitment to accuracy to provide administrative support for the Compensation and HRIS Manager of Human Resources (HR) to drive efficient and effective operations. This position serves as point of contact by effectively answering questions and assisting in day-to-day work. This position also supports the other department administrative staff, coordinates ordering of supplies and works on a variety of projects. Additional tasks include conducting research, preparing reports, handling information requests and performing clerical functions. Will also cross-train with other HR administrative support employees to serve as a back-up during absences or during especially busy times in department. Handles significant assignments and projects as assigned by organizing and executing the work involved, dealing extensively with key individuals inside and outside of the organization, and keeping the supervisor informed regarding progress.

It is imperative that our ideal candidate maintains confidentiality of sensitive and/or privileged employee information in both verbal and written communications.

Required Skills

Required:
Associates degree or equivalent

1 year of related work experience

Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel, and database navigation

Ability to learn various types of software (BANNER and various database and custom applications)

Strong organizational skills

Ability to prioritize and work on numerous projects simultaneously

Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

Effective interpersonal skills and ability to diffuse conflict

Ability to be discreet and maintain utmost confidentiality

Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in related field

3 years of related work experience

Previous experience in a “project” role, handling issues and preparing work on behalf of supervisor preferred
