Accounts Payable Accountant

Tesla Motors is looking for someone who is an accounting jack of all trades. A good fit in this role will require someone who is looking to jump into new areas and become an expert in whatever is necessary for the success of the organization.

Responsibilities:

· Manage all AP accounting including month-end close, reconciliations etc.

· Lead the vendor statement reconciliation process.

· Maintain and reconcile Accounts payable and GR/IR accounts.

· Lead the month-end and quarter-end P2P cycle reviews and variance analysis

· Seek out unresolved accounting problems across the business and take initiative to address them

· Develop and maintain GL Accounting policy and procedures documentation

· Assist in the design, testing, and implementation of new automated accounting solutions.

· Develop process improvements and partner with process owners to drive automation to accelerate the month end close timeline

· Assist with special projects as needed

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
• Evidence of exceptional ability
• Big 4 public accounting experience preferred
• Minimum 2+ years of relevant business experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP as well as ability to clearly and concisely document and effectively communicate accounting and reporting issues to finance and non-finance personnel
• Highly effective communication skills (verbal and written)
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to develop strong partnerships and influence people
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment, prioritize appropriately and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
