Accounting Specialist

The Accounting Specialist will report directly to the Department Accounting Supervisor. Responsible for auditing and posting daily transactions entered into the general ledger system. Responsible for providing accounting and clerical support to Accounting Department personnel. Maintains accounting document files. Assists accounting personnel as requested.

Essential Responsibilities

Performs any combination of following calculating, reviewing, and verifying duties to obtain financial data for use in maintaining accounting records.

Compiles, sorts, and file documents, such as invoices, substantiating business transactions.

Verifies details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and totals accounts, using calculator or computer.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent.

At least two years of Accounting experience, preferred.

Detail-oriented and strong communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.

Ability to handle a dynamic work environment within defined deadlines.

Ability to organize and prioritize work with consistent follow-through.

Motivated; a “self-starter”; able to work independently, but also well in a team.

Must be a US citizen or hold a current US work Visa.

**No more than 2 accident(s) violations in the last three (3) years. No more than 3 moving violations (speeding, etc) in the last three (3) years. No more than one (1) accident and no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years. No DWI/DUI in the last five (5) years.
