Accounting Manager (Mansfield, OH)

The Accounting Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing all accounting processes and procedures for the business to ensure the preparation of timely and accurate financial statements, and is responsible for the supervision of the accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and other general accounting functions.

The Accounting Manager is also expected to partner with Senior Managers across all functional areas within the business as well as Corporate Financial Management.

Major Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Leads the monthly, quarterly, and year end close processes
  • Manages the monthly account reconciliation process (Entire balance sheet is reconciled monthly)
  • Ensures that all financial statements and reports are completed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Manages all accounting operations including – AR, AP, General Accounting, Fixed Assets, Cash, Cost Accounting, and Intercompany Accounting.
  • Assist in forecasting monthly working capital targets as well as managing the appropriate team members to achieve their targets
  • Responsible for the implementation of robust internal controls, monitoring compliance, and for maintenance of adequate documentation.
  • Maintains a complete audit trail to document month end and quarter end controls
  • Manages the internal & external audit process as well as quarterly SOX reporting
  • Assists in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, budget, accounting, and/or payroll.
  • Manages annual standards cost roll as well as the quarterly full absorption analysis
  • Analyzes actual manufacturing costs and prepares periodic report comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
  • Compiles cost information to be used in operating budget preparation.
  • Analyzes changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on costs.
  • Prepares statements and reports of estimated future costs and revenues.
  • Leads and/or participates in special projects and assignments as required.

Qualifications:

Education:

BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or related field and CPA/CMA and/or MBA preferred.

Experience:

  • Five to seven years of progressive accounting & finance responsibilities in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimal of 3 years supervision experience.
  • Experience in reviewing, analyzing and implementing accounting and financial reporting requirements.

Specific skills, knowledge, and/or licenses:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to work effectively in a team environment within and outside of the Accounting Department.
  • Solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the ability to research and apply accounting pronouncements as appropriate.
  • Advanced PC/ERP skills with proficiency in excel.
  • Consistently operates at the highest level of integrity and is never willing to compromise the teams ethical standards
