Accounting Intern

We are currently looking for a bilingual Tax & Accounting intern to join a rapidly growing accounting and consulting firm headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. Sierra Forensic Group Ltd. (SFG) is a boutique forensic accounting firm specializing in assisting clients with matters involving financial fraud, investigations and analysis as well as litigation support and dispute consulting. The internship is for approximately 20 to 30 hours per week for a period of 10-12 weeks at our 18th Street office location in Chicago. To be considered for this internship you must be available from February 2018 through April 2018. The intern may receive college credit for this internship; however, they need to confirm eligibility with their particular university or college. Based on need and performance, intern maybe offered a part-time Jr Associate position. The position is an entry level role, but with rapid career progression potential, up to and including partnership. This professional must possess the intellectual curiosity to learn various accounting, tax, and business topics quickly, as well as manage multiple tasks and time line driven client work.

Task may include:

  • Assisting with income tax return preparations
  • Assisting with forensic accounting investigations
  • Communicating with clients
  • Performing a variety of accounting tasks involving bookkeeping and/or compiling financial information; monitoring and reconciling accounts
  • Performing internal projects
  • Traveling domestically and internationally
  • Administrative tasks

Key Requirements:

  • Fluent in Spanish and English, Portuguese or other languages a plus
  • Eligibility to sit for the CPA exam, or working towards eligibility
  • Must be proactive and detail-oriented
  • QuickBooks or similar accounting software knowledge preferred
  • Accounting major
