Accounting Assistant II

As an Accounts Payable Clerk for Welbilt Foodservice/Frymaster* you will perform specialized activities necessary to support the paying of invoices, performs calculations for sales and use tax filings/payments for various states and performs general accounting month-end functions.

Reporting directly to the Controller, this position is based in Shreveport, Louisiana.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Processes invoices for payment including debit, freight and EDI invoices.

• Audits and processes commission payments to representatives.

• Audits and processes employee expense reports and verifies coding.

• Resolves disputes regarding errors in partial or incomplete purchase orders, duplicate shipments, prices and substitutions with vendors and buyers.

• Monitors records of amounts owed and ensures prompt payment of invoicing featuring discounts. Schedules payments to vendors within negotiated terms and policy. Collects monies owed through debit memos.

• Maintains file of returnable items received from or returned to vendors.

• Prepares monthly Sales and Use Tax file used for filing monthly/quarterly returns for multiple states.

• Prepares journal entries and general account reconciliations. Maintains various Excel spreadsheets.

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS

• Minimum of High School education with at least 2 years’ experience in Accounts Payable

• Understanding of accounting principles and practices, 10-key by touch

• Microsoft Excel and Word.

• Must be able to manage difficult or emotional vendor situations and able to respond promptly to vendor’s needs; ability to provide service and assistance to vendors professionally.

*In addition to industry-leading fryers, the Welbilt Foodservice – Shreveport, Louisiana operation (Frymaster) manufactures commercial fryer filtration equipment (built-in and portable), foodservice equipment computers, water-bath rethermalizers and pasta cookers. The facility in Shreveport is a division of WelbiltFoodservice
