ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT I

JOB SUMMARY

Ensure the reconciling of production, tracking ingredient and packaging usage. Preparing weekly production reports Executes the reconciliation of physical inventories, petty cash and preparing bi-weekly payroll files. Provides support and performs purchasing duties for the Accounting/finance function.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Reconcile production daily, weekly, and monthly.
  • Calculate and issue ingredients, packaging, cleaner, and miscellaneous usage daily/weekly.
  • Prepare weekly production report.
  • Reconcile and maintain petty cash.
  • Assist with capex tracking.
  • Provide coverage for other office personnel.
  • Validate physical plant inventories against SAP weekly.
  • Enter requisitions, receive material and manage LIV log.
  • Prepare bi-weekly payroll files.
  • Track employee attendance, personal and vacation time used and available.
  • Take minutes for meetings.
  • May act as receptionist, including switchboard operator, greeting visitors, and distributing mail.
  • File paperwork.
  • Assist in weekly and monthly departmental and plant reporting.
  • Participates in special projects/ action teams.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires a Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or a minimum of one year related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routing database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Provide leadership to others through example of sharing of knowledge/skill.
