Accountant/Financial Analyst

This position is responsible for conducting high-level analysis of revenue, credit, expenses and overhead. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management to assist with critical decisions about investment funding, credit extension, and expense management.

Responsibilities:

• Consolidate and analyze financial data (budgets, income statement forecasts, etc) considering company’s goals and financial standing.
• Compile and analyze financial reports and provide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance.
• Prepare financial reports with reliable conclusions that management can utilize to implement more effective operational strategies.
• Identify trends, advise company, and recommend actions based on sound analysis.
• Gain and update job knowledge to remain informed about the grain industry.
• Consult with Management to guide and influence long-term and strategic decision making within the broadest scope.
• Drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the function.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor Degree in Finance and/or Accounting experience is required. CPA and/or CMA is preferred. Is well informed in current financial subjects, accounting, tax laws, money market and business environments
• Minimum two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in reporting, consolidation and financial analysis. Accounting/GAAP knowledge is required.
• Demonstrated technical capacity and aptitude for computers and working with accounting software programs, primarily the AS400 data entry, query, and reporting.
• Possesses strong analytical abilities and problem solving techniques.
• Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Possesses strong communication skills – verbal and written. Includes outstanding presentation, reporting skills.
• Ability to work well with others in a dynamic environment.
