MEC North America’s premier Employee-owned Contract Manufacturing, Prototype, Coating, and Tube Bending Services Company is seeking Accountant II to be part of the Accounting team.

As MEC’s Accountant II you will apply the principles of cost accounting to conduct studies, analysis, and cost updates which will provide detailed cost information to business units by performing the following duties.

Perform daily general accounting functions as needed

Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations

Perform ad hoc reporting as needed

Assist and prepare journal entries, month end closing, and other assigned duties.

Perform variance analysis and forecasting.

Provide monthly analysis to assist management with key decisions.

Assist in preparing other financial analysis as it relates to product costing, job performance, margin opportunities or other special projects.

We seek an individual who has a Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university with one to four years related experience.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university with one to four years related experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
