Accountant

Position Overview

Siemens Wind Power, Inc. is seeking a General Ledger Accountant in Orlando, FL. This position will require experience and technical knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and its application to complex business transactions. The role will have direct involvement in the accounting for Siemens Wind Power.

Responsibilities

  • Support Siemens Wind Power in general ledger accounting and related account reconciliations.
  • Review, analysis and oversight to the general ledger processes and data.
  • Validation of accuracy of general ledger processes and controls.
  • Provide insight for general ledger accounts within a designated area of subject matter expertise.
  • Reporting of financial statement fluctuations.
  • Delivery of general ledger information for external or internal auditors and/or divisional review purposes.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university.
  • 2-5 years experience in general ledger accounting for a large, multi-national organization
  • A strong understanding use of IFRS, FASB and US GAAP accounting principles.
  • Strong and demonstrated analytical skills and presentation skills
  • Accounting background and skills with excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with financial reporting software
  • Proven critical thinking skills and ability to apply technical guidelines to complex accounting problems
  • Strong appreciation for the importance of ensuring accuracy in all levels of financial reporting
  • Experience and familiarity with Sarbanes Oxley
  • Working knowledge of general business practices
  • Ability and desire to plan, control, and contribute to solving complex problems
  • Self-driven and resourceful to meet deadlines, achieve goals, work independently as well as work well in teams or groups
  • Excellent communication, writing, reporting skills to effectively communicate technical financial information
  • Flexibility to multi-task and adjust to changing requirements, schedules and priorities – ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Amount of travel with the position: 5%
