Prepare and process complex accounting transactions; ensure financial subsidiary systems are balanced and reconciled to the general ledger. Assists with preparation of accounting and financial reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Statutory Accounting Practices (SAP). Assist financial and accounting analysts.

Responsibilities:
Accurately balance source systems, payments and other accounting activities through review and reconciliation of various systems. Research root-cause and recommend appropriate corrective actions eliminate or reduce future errors and inconsistencies.

Analyze and process accounting and financial transactions on source systems and the general ledger. Maintain other financial reporting records as needed. Review and research out of balance conditions taking corrective action as needed. Maintain internal controls over processes, ensure compliance with internal controls over processes, and ensure compliance with corporate and department policies and procedures.

Assist internal customers in the resolution of accounting and reporting issues. Provide superior customer service in response to written and verbal requests Participate in projects as assigned.

Qualifications:
Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting required; Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred.

Experience: 2 to 4 years professional experience in accounting, or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience. Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), LAN and mainframe operating environments, including financial spreadsheet applications.

Professional certification required: None.
