OVERVIEW OF THE DEPARTMENT

The Cash Services department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta includes operations in Atlanta, Jacksonville, Miami, and New Orleans. These are four of the 28 cash processing facilities in the Federal Reserve System.

Each operation provides currency and coin services to depository institutions in the U.S. and overseas to ensure that they have sufficient supply of high quality currency available to meet public demand. Cash Services is responsible for accepting deposits of excess and unfit currency and processing orders for fit and new currency. The facilities also cull out counterfeit notes and destroy currency that is no longer fit for circulation.

SCOPE OF ASSIGNMENTS

The selected intern will support the Cash Services department at the Miami, Florida Branch.

QUALIFICATIONS

Enrolled in an accredited college or university as a rising junior or senior obtaining a degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field; Graduate students will also be considered.

A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required.

Must be committed to working a 40-hour work week for 10-12 weeks.
