At AWS, we’re hiring consultants to provide remote consulting services to our customer and partners. The Remote Consulting Services (RCS) team provides direct to customer, back office and packaged delivery consulting services to customers remotely from a centralized location.

Our consultants are builders and deliver projects, technical workshops, and lead implementation projects with customers around the globe. These professional services engagements focus on customer solutions such as, web applications, enterprise applications, high performance computing, batch processing, big data, archiving, disaster recovery, migration, security risk and compliance.

Responsibilities include:

• Expertise – Collaborate with AWS field sales, pre-sales, training and support teams to help partners and customers learn and use AWS services such as Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3), Amazon SimpleDB/RDS databases, AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), CloudFormation, Lambda, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, etc.
• Solutions – Deliver technical engagements and build solutions. This includes participating in pre-sales activities, understanding customer requirements, and proposing and delivering packaged offerings, and delivering custom solution engagements.
• Delivery – Engagements include remote projects proving the use of AWS services to support new distributed computing solutions that often span private cloud and public cloud services. Engagements will include migration of existing applications and development of new applications using AWS cloud services.

• Experience delivering consulting services in a remote manner via video, phone, email and chat.
• 5+ years of IT platform implementation experience
• Experience in software development life cycle (SDLC), agile/iterative methodologies, and CI/CD required
• Proficiency in object oriented development and ability to apply OO concepts. 2+ years hands-on programming experience in Java, C++, or other object-oriented languages. Familiarity with one or more of: Python, Perl, PHP.
• Experience developing high quality, large scale consumer applications
• Experience implementing AWS services in a variety of distributed computing, enterprise environments
• Experience integrating AWS cloud services with on premise technologies from Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, HP, SAP etc.
• BS level technical degree required; Computer Science or Math background preferred

• Application Development experience
• Current hands-on software development experience required; Internet-related business models preferred
• Strong verbal and written communications skills and ability to lead effectively across organizations
• Experience providing remote support, consulting services and/or help desk services to customers
• Customer facing skills to represent AWS well within the customer’s environment and drive discussions with senior personnel regarding trade-offs, best practices, project management and risk mitigation
• Demonstrated ability to deliver consulting services in a remote manner via video, phone, email and chat.
