Job Title: Youth Program Coordinator

Reports To: Child Care Director

Status : Non-Exempt

Schedule: Full Time (36 hours/week)

Position Summary:

The Youth Program Coordinator is responsible for the planning, implementation, and continued success of all the YWCA Greater Green Bay’s “Running on STEAM” programs.

YWCA Greater Green Bay’s “Running on STEAM” programs give kids in elementary school a chance for hands-on exploration of Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Math in an after-school or summer camp setting. Included in these programs are after-school programming (both on and off site) and a TechGYRLS program (for 3rd and 4th grade girls in an after-school program at their home school).

Job Requirements:

The Youth Program Coordinator will be responsible for ongoing fundraising to provide continued funds for the position and programs.

This position requires an ability to work effectively with others and be a positive team member. Good organization skills, strong relationship skills, good verbal and written communication skills, and strong computer skills are essential. The coordinator must be able to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with staff, volunteers, members and the community.

Educational & Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent as determined by the DPI is required.
  • Any combination of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree; professional training in teaching, social work, or youth/family development.
  • Certification in CPR/AED and first aid or willingness to complete certification within 3 months of hire is required.
  • Prior experience working with children in a school-age enrichment setting is required.
  • Willingness to obtain a School Age Credential within 1 year is required

Essential Functions:

  • Plan and implement all Running on STEAM program models and projects assigned to those programs (e.g. fundraise, develop curriculum, arrange field excursions, recruit guest speakers, plan academic experiences, and host quarterly project presentations).
  • Interview, train, manage, schedule and coach volunteers and school-age teachers to implement our programs — emphasizing the importance of developing youth in areas of STEAM and demonstrating a positive, healthy lifestyle.
  • Forge, cultivate and maintain relationships with the parents who have children in any of the program models.
  • Forge, cultivate and maintain existing relationships with community partners/potential partners to support program, funds and needs. Liaise with community partners to continually improve process, communication and implementation.
  • Assist Fund Development Director in collecting data and writing grants needed for the program.
  • Create a tool that measures program model outcomes.
  • Handle enrollment, ensure safety, and manage disciplinary issues with any youth in any of the program models.
  • Work strategically with other YWCA departments to develop concise, accurate messaging for all phases of the programs.
  • Support the mission of the YWCA.
  • Other duties as assigned that are necessary to support facilitation of programs, operations, promotions, etc.
