The writer/editor is primarily responsible for researching, writing, editing, and proofreading copy for projects targeted to both internal and external audiences. He or she is responsible for communicating university messages in a clear, compelling, and consistent manner to inform, motivate, and/or persuade an audience to action. The writer/editor promotes LSU to various constituencies, while enhancing the university’s image locally, nationally, and internationally.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with three years of experience; must be a self starter who will actively participate in brainstorming and strategy sessions and provide expertise to clients and colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree with two years of experience; knowledge of Chicago and AP Styles; Experience working in project management software a plus.
Special Qualifications: According to PS-18 this position is deemed essential and maybe required to report to campus in times of closure or emergency. Responsibilities: Writing, proofing, and editing brochures, direct mail, advertising copy, letters, digital- and web-based copy, and broadcast copy as part of recruiting, marketing, and public relations campaigns and initiatives; conducting research; conducting interviews; other duties as assigned.
