WordPress Developer

This is a Part Time Position, looking for State Side Developers only. Telecommute OK. Must be able to commit to specific hours Mon-Fri, CMG is flexible on when these hours are set. Clear Mind Graphics has been in Business for over 10 years and has a nationwide clientele, based in Ketchum, Idaho. We are a full service marketing company specializing in Web design and development, Print, Branding, Logos, Social Media Management and Graphic Design. No phone calls please.

Overview: * Clear Mind Graphics, Inc is looking for a back-end web developer to expand our capacity and skill set.

Summary:

• Develops custom, often complex WordPress-based solutions along with PHP framework-based solutions.

• Aids web manager, production manager and others in requirements gathering, web project planning, and general technical questions.

• Provides leadership in finding/developing new technologies and methods to advance the company’s web offerings.

• Performs server maintenance and monitoring.

• Supports current client websites by providing technical support.

Key Quantifiable Indicators:

• Substantial experience working with similar technologies and environment.

• Knowledge of PHP, MySQL, HTML/CSS, intermediate JavaScript, DNS, and Linux.

• Experienced in developing for WordPress.

• Ability to breakdown client problems and develop a web solution from system design to implementation.

• Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing with good time management skills.

Specific Skills:

• Strong understanding of PHP back-end development.

• High comprehension of Search Engine Optimization and how our clients benefit for SEO.

• Good understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery.

• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of WordPress

• Knowledge of shopping cart solutions with WordPress such as WooCommerce, SSL certificates and POS integration from 3rd party providers.

Responsible for:

• Contributing to “scope of build” conversations with development team, project managers, designers, and other developers

• Integrating PSD files into either WordPress or some other proven open source system (note: WordPress is our primary CMS platform); ALL of our builds are responsive

• Developing custom web applications that drive business processes

• Setting up e-commerce applications

• Monitoring health and uptime of servers (general server admin in a managed services environment; no in-depth configuration required)

• Collaborating with design, strategy and sales teams to find solutions for client website projects * Contributing to support of current client websites

• Participating in regular company-wide and team meetings

• Contributing to web best practices; recommending, exploring and implementing better ways to deliver

Examples of projects the Developer will work on:

• Active participation in the project team to settle and respond to instructions from the Coordinator or Project Manager who is responsible for coordination.

• Develop, modify and run applications and web sites of all kinds according to the requirements of the project or activity assigned.

• Comply with the requirements of scope, time and resources will be allocated for development indicated. * Manage Applications and Websites when required

• Attend and resolve contingencies on projects, developments or applications under their responsibility. * Provide internal or external expert advice on development.

• Provide technical support in the preparation of tenders and project planning, according to their level of technical expertise. * Trying new methodologies and technologies that are valuable.

Experience working with WordPress at a PHP code level:

• Knowledge of existing in-built WordPress functions

• Creation of custom post types

• Creation of plugins/widgets written to conform with the WordPress coding standards

• Creation of clean, logical, well-documented and re-usable code

• Theme/Template integration * Ensuring all work adheres to current industry best practice.

• Self motivated, goal oriented and able to work in a team environment.

• Use common sense at all times and pay close attention to detail.

• Setting up multi-site WordPress builds

• Integrating feeds from social networks

• Custom developing blogs

• Integrating with third-party APIs

• Customizing WordPress to support specific functionality

• Developing wireframe mockups to illustrate possible solutions

• CRM integration * Developing new plugins for WordPress

• Developing documentation or videos for custom WordPress systems

• Content migration (ability to take direction from client managers as to where the content goes and how it should be displayed)
