We have an exciting opportunity for a Windchill Systems Administrator to join our Production Lifecyle Management and Center of Excellence (PLM COE) team in San Diego, CA.

Under the general guidance of the PLM COE leadership, this position will be responsible for the following:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform work on projects and large maintenance activities pertaining to Windchill/PDMlink

Monitor performance and system health

Provide Tier 2 problem diagnosis, research, and resolutions for the IT engineering teams. This includes entering support calls, providing diagnosis information, escalation, monitoring of problems with software vendor and applying provided fixes and patches.

Periodically assist with weekend and evening routine scheduled maintenance work and system verifications for all systems.

Serve as production support specialist for a subject area, such as: clustering, Java, scripting, tuning, Pro/E,

Review and maintain, as needed, Windchill documentation of GA applications, processes, systems, and related Standard Operating Procedures.

Independently research and/or assist the IT engineering group with implementation, testing and transition in support of new versions and technologies for Windchill and related products.

Provide support for all Windchill/PDMLink installations and related projects

Windchill Software installation, upgrade and support experience

Update third party software provided software by applying changes to PDMLink objects, including patches, temp fixes, and upgrades.

Job Qualifications

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related discipline and six or more years of progressive professional experience in an information technology department primarily in systems administration. May substitute equivalent working experience in the field in lieu of education.

Must posses strong Windchill PDMLink System administration experience in a clustered Windchill environment.10.1 or higher.

Experience with UNIX is a must (AIX/Linux)

Windchill, Java, and/or Oracle tuning knowledge and experience

LDAP Security

Understanding of Pro/E applications

Unix OS, Java, and Windchill/PDMLink monitoring techniques

Oracle database administration and/or SQL tuning experience

Ongoing Windchill/PDMLink problem diagnosis and pursue resolution.

Must demonstrate an extensive technical expertise and application of system administration theories, concepts and practices including but not limited to system design, installation, configuration and management, performance tuning and measurement, back-up, recovery (including disaster recovery planning and testing), TCP/IP and related protocols and network concepts, security/firewalls, web servers, and load balancing.

Must have project leadership skills including organizing, scheduling, conducting, and coordinating work assignments to meet project milestones or established completion dates.

Must be able to contribute to the development of new processes or systems, resolve complex technical problems, serve as spokesperson or leader on projects, and be a technical expert in one or more information technology areas. Must be customer focused and possess: (1) the ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret data and develop innovative solutions to a variety of unusually complex matters; (2) excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings to a variety of audiences including senior management and senior external parties: (3) excellent interpersonal skills to influence and guide all levels of employees, including senior managers and senior external parties; (4) the ability to represent the company as a technical expert on external projects ; and (5) excellent computer skills. Ability to work independently or in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours and travel as required.
