WebGL/Front End Game Developer

PLAYSTUDIOS is seeking a WebGL/Front End Engineer to join our team. The Front End Engineer will develop PLAYSTUDIOS’s Pixar-quality slots games on the Facebook Canvas platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Rapid development of front-end UI using the following platforms for online social network games: WebGL, Haxe, Starling, and Flash.
  • Port legacy Flash content to newer HTML5-based technologies.
  • Play an active role in software design decisions.
  • Architect and implement game logic and interface with data services.
  • Actively participate in the game development process, engaging the team and resolving issues.
  • Work directly with talented designers, artists and producers to ensure the smooth development of quality products.
  • Work with producers to break down high-level goals into tasks and timelines.
  • Identify development methodologies to continually improve our production practices and efficiency.
  • Construct well organized .FLA files.
  • Improve and automate technical art pipeline with scripting (such as JSFL)


Requirements:

  • Current and advanced knowledge of preferred game client technologies listed above.
  • 2+ years industry experience building popular consumer games at scale.
  • Extensive experience with HTTP technologies and REST/JSON interfaces.
  • Game development and Facebook API experience a plus.
  • Familiarity with agile processes.
  • Debugging skills.
  • Understanding of user-interface design principles, interaction design guidelines and usability methodologies.
  • Superior communication and organization skills, flexibility and the proven ability to build quality products.
  • Degree in CS/Engineering (or equivalent) preferred, an advanced degree is even better.
  • Knowledge of slot games is beneficial.


Bonus:

  • Casino gaming domain knowledge.
  • Familiarity with agile processes.
  • Experience with C# and Visual Studio.
  • Game development experience in Unity, OpenGL/Open FL and HTML5 Canvas.
