dotData is a Silicon-Valley-based technology start-up that is the result of a strategic spinoff from NEC Corporation. At dotData we develop and commercialize a self-service data science platform that utilizes proprietary A.I. technologies to automate data preparation and model development processes. The dotData platform is proven to be able to significantly improve the productivity of data scientists and drive business innovation through democratizing data science for an organization.

dotData has completed multiple successful POC’s with large multinational corporations across different industries, including banking, insurance, telecom, and pharmaceutical industries. Most noticeably our product has been utilized to solve a variety of challenging business problems and generate real impacts in the areas of CRM, digital marketing, ERP, supply chain, risk management, among many others.

The dotData core product is an enterprise-grade SaaS software for advanced analytics and data science projects. It utilizes a scalable, distributed in-memory computing architecture and offers customers the choice of an all-in-one platform or Python-interfaced core libraries. Our product can be fully deployed on-premises or in the Cloud.

dotData is founded and led by Dr. Ryohei Fujimaki, who is the inventor of the company’s core technology. As one of Japan’s most prominent data scientists, he was the youngest research fellow in NEC’s 117-year history, an honor given to only six individuals worldwide among NEC’s 1000+ researchers. dotData has already obtained a very significant funding and is now seeking the best and brightest minds to join our team.

We are hiring several web frontend engineers in the following functional areas:

• understand user stories and identify MVP specifications;
• design user-friendly, efficient, stable, scalable and maintainable architecture and implement all aspects of web frontend improvements on the dotData platform;
• implement codes and tests on all levels and integrate them in CI/CD pipeline;
• profile and improve user experience of the web frontend;
• document GUI manual;
• provide L2/L3 support w.r.t web frontend

Minimum qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a product engineer on javascript-based enterprise-grade web application systems, with a minimum of 1 year of experience on Angular framework (Anguler 2 or later).
• Proficient of Angular, Javascript, HTML5, and web E2E test automation framework (Protractor).
• Strong foundation in modern web systems and architectures.

• Working experience of front end development in Linux and AWS environment.
• Working knowledge of RDBMS.
• Passion and solution-oriented mindset to solve customers’ problems.
• Excellent communications skills
• Strong sense of responsibility in software quality and user experience.
• Strong motivation to learn and to grow

Preferred qualifications

• Working knowledge of DevOps platforms such as Jenkins, Github, JIRA, etc
• Experience of developing an analytics platform is a plus.
• Good understanding about workload of data scientists is a plus.
• Working knowledge about modern data preparation and business intelligence platforms is a plus.
• Strong experience to contribute to OSS communities is a plus.
• Startup experience (early stage, pre-product/market fit, etc.) is a plus.
