Web Developer Intern (Back-End developer)

Vectorworks, Inc. seeks a Web Developer Intern to join our team for a dynamic internship opportunity. We’re looking for an up-and-coming web developer who wants to gain real world experience working on web projects that support corporate marketing objectives.

It’s an exciting time to join the Vectorworks family, and we hope you’ll take the time to learn more about our internship opportunities starting with the 2016 fall semester and working with our Marketing team in our Columbia, Maryland office.

What’s in it for you?

The Web Developer Intern will work on web projects that support corporate marketing objectives.

As an intern at Vectorworks, you will:
Assist with the development and integration of back-end web logic/services with front-end user interface elements

Assist with page customizations and updates within content management systems

Maintain current databases and data storage services

Assist in testing and debugging of development codes (both Server-side and front-end)

Other duties as assigned Education/Experience:
Background in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field

Successful applicant qualities:
Knowledge of PHP programming language and working with MySQL databases

Familiarity/experience with the following web technologies: Javascript, JQuery, AJAX, HTML and CSS

Experience using an MVC framework (Laravel preferred)

Experience working with code version control (e.g. Git)

Good reasoning, logic, debugging and problem-solving skills

Attention to detail and having a can-do attitude

Strong organizational skills

Requirements:
Internships require working a minimum of 16 hours per week with a maximum of 40 hours per week.

You must be 18 years of age and either an undergraduate student entering your junior or senior year by fall 2016, a graduate student, or a recent college graduate who matriculated within six months of the start of the internship. GPA above 3.0.

Most internships with Vectorworks are paid. Your hiring manager will confirm this with you. If applicable, your compensation will be based on your qualifications. We currently do not provide housing, relocation, or transportation reimbursement.

Interns are not eligible for company benefits.
