Web Developer Full-Time Marketing and Communications

Description
The Web Developer is responsible for application design, development and implementation of strategic architectures of web applications. This includes an understanding of methodology, design, specifications, programming, delivery, monitoring, and support standards. Involved in strategic planning activities and researches emerging Internet technology, programming languages and tools, and e-business standards for use in effective existing or new enterprise application/systems.

Individual may work alone or as a development project lead of a cross-functional team that deals with the full spectrum of information technology. The Web Developer is also responsible for supporting the business goals and objectives for the Department and the organization as a whole. Requires only general supervision. Performs routine duties independently. Supports critical business requirements and is on call for problem resolution.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or related field or 4 years equivalent experiencerequired.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSES : None. Certified Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist, and / or other core technologies preferred.

SKILLS:

Individual must have a strong working knowledge with Ektron, Episerver, Service Oriented Architectures (SOA), Web Services, Web languages, Web 2.0, scripting and web development. The Web Developer must have proven intermediate applied knowledge in a combination of two or more of the following areas: C# .Net development, XML/DHTML/HTML, PHP, and Mobile application development, Javascript, Q /A Testing or Technical Project Leadership for development.

Individual must have in depth knowledge of principles and concepts of Content Management Systems. Individual must have proven experience in managing at least one of the following CMS: EKTRON, Dotnetnuke, Sharepoint, Drupal, Plone or an enterprise CMS.

Experience also required in coding, implementation, testing, administration and maintenance of .Net sites. Development, Staging and Production, strong working knowledge with web programming languages and web development. (CSS, HTML 5, J-Query, Javascript.etc.) The successful candidate will have a strong understanding and demonstrated expertise in web content, usability, architecture, development and design.

Also desired but not required:

  • Working knowledge of Visual.
  • Experience with Sitecore.
  • Experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, responsive design.

Knowledge of current systems analysis principles, methods, procedures, practices, tools and techniques, including:

  • Requirements definition
  • Cost / benefit analysis
  • Feasibility studies
  • Flowcharts, decision trees, data flow diagrams, and related analysis tools and techniques.
  • Process, logic and conceptual data modeling

Considerable knowledge of current project management principles, methods, procedures, practices, tools and techniques, including:

  • Project planning, organization and scheduling
  • Allocation and management of resources
  • Project budgeting and reporting
  • GANTT and PERT charts

Considerable knowledge of current system and application and design principles and concepts, including:

  • Database design and optimization
  • System and application optimization
  • User interfaces and standard data entry methods
  • Technical and operations documentation standards

Considerable knowledge of the tools, techniques and methods used in system development including:

  • Proven expertise in at least one major programming language, operating system and relational database
  • In-depth knowledge of programming standards, principles and techniques
  • Skill in coding, testing and debugging of application programs.

Proven ability to communicate effectively with users and staff who have a variety of levels of knowledge, skills and responsibilities:

  • Assist personnel in the operation of computer systems and applications programs
  • Develop user, technical and operational training courses and requirements.
  • Prepare documentation, charts, graphs, project plans, training materials and other written communications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Professional work habits and demeanor, including:

  • Ability to work independently or with limited supervision
  • Ability to work well with people from different disciplines who may have varying degrees of technical expertise.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and to contribute to the effective functioning of that team.
  • Ability to prioritize independently, multiple requests and system requirements to meet the organizational goals.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A total of four (4) years of experience in corporate systems environments required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years development experience with .NET/Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 (.NET Framework 2.0) and higher, with an emphasis for .NET C# required .

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or related field or equivalent experience (6 years) required .
  • A total of six (6) years of experience in corporate systems environments required.
    • Minimum of five (5) years development experience with .NET/Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 (.NET Framework 2.0) and higher, with an emphasis for .NET C# required .
    • Prior experience in a health care systems environment
    • Experience with CSV’s existing technology and applications.

NATURE OF SUPERVISION:

-Responsible to: Director of Marketing, Communication & Public Relations

ENVIRONMENT:

General office setting with exposure to computer room environment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to lift and transfer objects typically not in excess of 50 lbs. Extended use of video display terminal and keyboard utilizing sound ergonomic principals.
