Web Developer / Designer

SPECIAL NOTIFICATION: This position is exempt from classified state service and the rules of the Division of Human Resources and the Idaho Personnel Commission.

The Idaho Secretary of State is seeking

a Web Developer and Designer to join the

Information Technology Team at the Idaho Capital in Boise.

The ideal candidate will be both experienced with WordPress,

Visual Studio .Net, and also have a strong background in graphic design .

Responsibilities:

• Primarily responsible for creating, maintaining, and managing the Secretary of State website, IdahoVotes.gov website, and any future web presences under the supervision of the IT manager.
• Edit, maintain, and oversee the publication of the Idaho State Blue Book bi-annually.
• Provide visual web page mockups and UI/UX wireframes.
• Provide Web development/support for SOS staff and customers.
• Work with end users to identify software solutions.
• Analyze, design, develop, test and implement new web applications.
• Work with and support other Development Team members in a collaborative effort.
• Create documentation for department applications.
• Provide application support to department employees, in person and over the phone, in a professional, polite and respectful manner .

Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience with WordPress web development and/or PHP.
• Experience writing in current versions of .NET.
• Significant experience and provable working familiarity in both digital and print design functions and software including Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign ( be prepared to provide work samples/portfolio ).
• Experience working with customers to develop requirements specifications, performing systems design and analysis, writing specifications and developing applications appropriate for multi-user/multi-tasking environments .
