Summary/Objective

The web developer will focus on Fine The Agency’s web clients front-end development – strong UI/UX experience, content strategies and front-end site maintenance. This position requires knowledge on the server side development, infrastructure, and maintenance at a foundational level. This position is required to be able to setup and maintain a website completely on their own. Fine The Agency’s current web development and hosting is on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

This individual will be handling a variety of projects. The majority will involve building client website and leveraging today’s existing technologies with solid architecture and usability. Specific job requirements include building websites from concept to production, website redesigns, ongoing website maintenance from a marketing and promotional aspect and the ability to learn on-the-go, to continuously integrating better standards and enhancing the presence of a client’s website on the internet. Candidate will be working on a team with graphic designers and an account coordinator.

Responsibilities:
Develops, designs and delivers web site content.

Documents, tests, implements and maintains web pages and multimedia design using appropriate web publishing, editing and graphics applications.

Posts and updates to applicable sites as needed.

Works closely with account management team in communicating with clients on web projects, updates, maintenance and enhancements. Investigates web site issues and coordinates resolutions.

Monitors and reports web statistics (as appropriate) and makes recommendations to clients for improved visibility and usability of web site.

Qualifications:
Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript.

Intermediate or better Photoshop knowledge.

Familiarity with server-side languages like PHP.

Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Proficient understanding of *UNIX systems.

Must know how to setup and manage DNS records.

Proficient understanding of web servers. Apache and/or NGINX.

Project Management and organization skills.

Can handle a fast-paced work environment – many requests, short turnaround time.

Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX design of client websites.

Attend client meetings and translate the client’s needs into a technical statement of work.

Be able to communicate in a professional manner

Desirable:
Agency environment experience.

Familiarity with any of the following:
CSS frameworks like Twitter Bootstrap 3.*

JavaScript libraries like jQuery 1.*

PHP frameworks like FuelPHP 1.7, Laravel 5.*

CMS’s like WordPress or OctoberCMS. If experience with others, specify on resume.

Project Management system like Basecamp 3.

Version Control like SVN or Git

eCommerce store like Shopify

Email marketing software like MailChimp and Mobilestorm

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status.

Travel

This position requires minimal travel. Most of the travel is in the immediate area and is not overnight.

Required Education and Experience

Four years of experience or four year computer science degree in web programming.
