Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Communications, Web Design or similar field and a minimum of two years web experience

  • Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with a variety of audiences
  • Strong knowledge of using HTML and CSS to design webpages
  • Strong understanding of effective communication principles through the web
  • Color discrimination and memory for detail
  • Ability to use photo editing software, such as Adobe Photoshop, to resize, crop, or otherwise edit images
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize work assignments
  • Ability to work well on a diverse team; maintain confidentiality

Preferred

  • Knowledge of JavaScript, and libraries such as JQuery, and how they affect webpages
  • Ability to use FTP clients to edit files outside of a CMS
  • Knowledge of emerging technology, such as HTML5 and CSS3
  • Experience writing marketing level content for web use
  • Experience working in Higher Education environments

Responsibilities

This position will be responsible for serving as a resource to web publishers, or content owners, within Augusta University colleges. This position will work to develop, and maintain, websites focused on recruitment and retention of students, as well as support of faculty and staff. This position will be responsible for designing, coding, and modifying websites from layout to function, and according to specifications provided by content owners. The duties include, but are not limited to:

Web/Interactive Design and Development

  • Develop concepts, wireframes, prototypes, scenarios, and storyboards for interactive/screen-based experiences based on organizational and client goals and audience insights; implement concepts to create web and technical design that meet project goals, support an effective web presence, maintain usability standards, and engage audiences
  • Design, code, develop, maintain, test, and support websites and web projects that follow university branding standards
  • Plan, implement, and support new page designs and features in the OUCampus Content Management System (CMS)
  • Work to continuously evolve how we deliver and manage web presence, staying current with best practices and seeking opportunities to experiment

Project Management/Client Relations

  • Regular interaction with content owners, content publishers, or unit leaders to learn site requirements and provide appropriate web strategy
  • Provide consultation to university web publishers on web/interactive design and technical matters
  • Stay current with trends in web design and development and regularly assess processes and make recommendations to improve effectiveness

University Site Management

  • Assist in development and maintenance of university wide site and content management guidelines
  • Design, or participate, in studies, focus groups, or other activities developed to improve overall site function, organization, or operation

Use project management system on a daily basis to document and track projects from beginning to end.
Other duties as assigned

Shift/Salary

Shift: Days/M-F

Pay Grade: 16

Minimum Salary: $47,476/Annual

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
