Web Developer

Coveteur is looking to hire a multi-talented developer to create and build incredible experiences for our users. In this role you’ll have the opportunity to work on all aspects of front and back-end development, and also be the project coordinator for outside redesign and development projects. This is a job for someone who enjoys working closely with management and the rest of the team, as well as outside firms, to help build the next iteration of a fast-growing media brand. You’ll be part of a hard working, fun and highly creative group of dedicated professionals based in our Soho NYC office, and will report to the Site Director and Head of Technology.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the management team, editors and advertising staff to compile and prioritize requirements and feature requests.
• Implement improvements and upgrades to the site.
• Develop new features and functionality.
• Troubleshoot as needed.
• Coordinate site, mobile, newsletter, ad serving, video and other technology, both in house and using outside contractors.
• Ensure management receives actionable analytics, and make recommendations for improvements.
• Coordinate server architecture and management.
• Provide in house technical support for site and newsletter CMS as needed.
• Perform regular code audits and maintain “clean” code.
• Assist in creating a short and long term technology strategy.

Requirements

• Significant experience with WordPress and ability to build custom templates and plug-ins. Ability to optimize CMS and UI.
• HTML5, JavaScript, CSS expertise.
• Experience developing for mobile and tablet.
• Working knowledge of ad serving and email marketing software.
• Team oriented, with the ability to work with a variety of constituents (design, editorial, sales, management, partners, outside developers and designers)
• Experience in an agile development environment.
• Highly organized.
• Git experience helpful.
• Desire to work with a growing team, in a fun, fast-paced start-up environment.
