Web Developer

Alpha Media – Corporate is looking for a full-time Web Developer to be remotely located while working with our Corporate Digital Technology department. Reporting to the Director of Web and Mobile Technology, the Web Developer will assist in the build-out and support of our mobile and web platforms from conception to completion. We are looking for an outstanding developer to be responsible for the coding and innovative UI of our digital platforms.

The ideal candidate is someone with the ability to facilitate and manage in a highly creative environment and can handle multiple priorities and projects at any given time with a high degree of proficiency and accuracy. The candidate should be highly skilled in the development process using HTML, CSS, Javascript and PHP, have an extensive knowledge of the WordPress CMS platform, and have proven experience dealing with constantly evolving deadlines in an ever-changing project landscape with the ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Primary Responsibilities of this position may include the following:

• Create site layouts, user interfaces and product lines using WordPress standards and create or customize WordPress plugins.
• Work largely with HTML, CSS, Javascript, and PHP to develop new features and interfaces while utilizing best practices.
• Integration of data from various backend APIs and databases.
• Stay plugged into emerging technologies and industry trends and apply them to operations and activities.
• Assist in the development of phone applications using various industry app platforms and engines.
• Management of hosting and load-balancing server related tasks.

Requirements of this position may include the following:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• A minimum of four years’ work experience in mobile/web programming.
• Extensive knowledge of WordPress and the creation of custom plugins and themes.
• Experience developing enterprise level products that must be scalable.
• Ability to gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs.
• Experience writing well-designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices.
• Knowledge of web technologies and techniques.
• Intuitive UI/UX Design experience.
• Experience collaborating and working with web designers to match visual design intent.
• Experience maintaining, expanding, and scaling digital platforms.
• Adequate knowledge of relational database systems, Object Oriented Programming, security and web application development.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preference may be given to candidates who meet the above requirements and have the following:

• Experience working with offshore and remote resources.
• Knowledge of Trello and Adobe Creative Cloud products.
• Adobe Omniture Reporting Suite and Google Analytics skills.
• Basic knowledge of Search Engine Optimization process.
• Knowledge of evolving social media platforms.
