Job Description

The Human Genome Sequencing Center (HGSC) at the Baylor College of Medicine is currently seeking a Senior Programmer with five or more years of software development experience to design and develop clinical and research applications utilizing established architecture, standard design patterns and coding practices.

Skills and Experience

• 5 or more years of hands on software development experience required.
• Experience developing web applications with JavaScript, Node JS, JSON, HTML, CSS, AJAX and related technologies required.
• Experience with Object Oriented JavaScript Frameworks (React, Angular, Ember, Dojo, Node etc.) preferred.

• Java development background preferred.
• Experience with databases preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a collaborative team.
• Good communication and collaboration skills and the ability to work in an agile/iterative development team.
• Technology environment: NodeJS, Hibernate, jQuery, mySQL/Oracle, Tomcat, UNIX/LINUX, Archiva, Maven, SVN, RESTful services.

Minimum Education

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Applied Math, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or related fields.
