Web Designer

Maybe you go by front-end designer, or designer/developer, or web designer, or just designer. We want you! You can work together with other designers, engineers, product managers, marketers and stakeholders to build and improve features our customers love. You’re excited by new trends in design but know when to step back and work with time-tested solutions. You take designing for over a million users a month seriously.

Responsibilities

• Function as a lead contributor on website projects but also support a range of marketing needs including email, graphics, branding & more.
• Translate creative briefs into design assets and systems with a focus on brand standards and conversion
• Design and markup content in-browser using HTML and CSS utilizing and maintaining design systems and pattern libraries
• Create responsive layouts and patterns for desktops and mobile browsers
• Participate in user research, competitive evaluation, split testing and usability testing.
• Collaborate with writers, developers, marketing, and product managers to deliver beautiful, functional web pages and templates.
• Work together with other designers to ensure design consistency across all applications and services.

Requirements

• 5+ years professional full time experience designing for the web
• Excellent writing and communication skills. Designers should be able to write copy and explain design decisions to small and large groups.
• Proficiency with creating user flows, sketches, wireframes, high-fidelity/in-browser mockups and know when to use them and when not to.
• Experience managing and contributing to multiple projects, responsibilities, and deadlines, concurrently and autonomously
• Exceptional front-end development skills hand-coding CSS & HTML.
• Experience gathering and working with user research and data to inform decisions.
• Experience designing small pieces of large systems.

Bonus

• Designing for CMS’ like WordPress and Jekyll.
• Knowledge of modern front-end tools like Sass and Gulp.
• Experience with command-line Git
