Hiring Range:
Business Technical Intern II
$15.00 to $21.00/hour

Hiring Criteria:
Prefer someone seeking college degrees in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering or Natural Resources Watershed Science. Additional knowledge or class work in Colorado water rights and water resources is ideal.

Location of position:
Main Campus/Administration Building

Full time, 40 hours per week

Denver Water’s,
Water Rights Section of the Planning division,
develops both short-term and long-range integrated plans and options for water supply and implements programs to increase that supply through various means including acquisition or adjudication of new water rights and sources; and supervises the maintenance and development of Denver Water’s conditional water rights and maximizes the exercise of existing water rights.

Intern Project:

  • Research, summarize and analyze hydrological data in support of water rights investigations and Water Court cases.
  • Assist with preparing an index of Denver Water’s Water Rights.
  • Assist with preparing an inventory of water rights owned by Denver Parks and Recreation.

    Other Requirements:

    Must possess and maintain a valid Class `R- Colorado driver-s license, and have a satisfactory driving record.

  • Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel
  • Basic knowledge of Colorado water issues and water rights
  • A background check will be conducted, to verify information submitted on the application for all applicants. All positions require a Worker’s Compensation Background check. A strength test will need to be done for this position.
