Salary :
The starting pay for this position ranges from $27.00 to $32.00 per hour ($56,160- $66,560 annually) depending upon experience and qualifications. This position includes an excellent benefits package. Pay on appointment for current or former state employees may vary according to the applicable pay transaction provisions of the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code. This position is in Pay Schedule/Range 15-03. A twelve month probationary period is required for this position.

The Department of Natural Resources is hiring a Water Resources Management Specialist- Advanced position (Working Title: Lake and River Team Leader) in the Division of Environmental Management, Bureau of Water Quality.

Position Summary :
This position leads teams and work groups in the formulation, determination and implementation of Lake and River Management Program policies, rules and program guidance. This position will formulate, determine and implement statewide Lake and River Program work planning and project management and reporting, staff training and development, and program reviews. Additional duties including directing and managing Wisconsin’s Lake, River and Aquatic Invasive Species Grant programs.

The successful candidate for this position will be required to pass a criminal background check prior to appointment.

Qualifications :
Required Qualifications:

Experience or Education in aquatic ecology, biology, or limnology.
Experience in project planning and management; including grants management.
Ability to facilitate, organize, and lead teams and workgroups.
Experience developing and managing budgets.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience leading a significant watershed, lake or stream management or restoration project.
Experience working with grants as a grantee and a grantor.
Ability to effectively manage a high volume workload.
