Position Summary:

The Warehouse and Logistics Manager is responsible for the organization of warehousing and inventory management systems, internal material flow, shipping, global trade compliance, implementation of logistics technology and the development and maintenance of processes that ensure operational efficiency and provide superior customer service. The role is responsible for the daily activities of the warehouse operation, including labor scheduling, supervision, and the proper utilization of space, equipment and manpower. The role will also assist the business unit in exceeding their financial and strategic goals by playing an active role in Lean/PPI/Continuous Improvement activities.

Responsibilities:

·Safety: Reinforce programs to ensure safety of all personnel, equipment, and property. Includes understanding and compliance with OSHA and other government regulations. Provide safety training to personnel as needed. Report all work related injuries and near misses. Responsible for conducting accident investigations as they pertain to warehouse operations. Ensures that equipment is maintained and operated in a safe manner.

·Internal Customer Service: Courteous relationship with all sales, management, customer service, office personnel, and customers. Audit operations to ensure customer service standards are being met and visit customers and suppliers as needed. Promote a positive teamwork environment between departments and among employees.

·Responsible for the overall logistics of the facility including but not limited to inventory control, packaging, shipping and receiving – manage daily activity in these areas through logistics supervisor.

  • Assures that customer orders are shipped and received on time.
  • Ensure invoices are in compliance to tariff and customs regulations.
  • Ensure compliance to all DOT and IATA regulations for dangerous goods shipments.
  • Assures long term development and training of the logistics team.
  • Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer or shipper complaints.
  • Creates KPI’s for all the department processes to assure meeting internal and external customer expectations

·Fulfill manager level responsibilities for import export compliance

·Active member of the cycle count program.

  • Drives effective root cause analysis and effective counter measures to improve inventory accuracy.

·Mature daily team (visual management boards) meetings to include meaningful metric management, problem solving, and corrective action. Perform daily gemba walks.

·Lead E&O inventory reduction with supply chain leadership.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

·Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or Administration, Logistics, Operations or similar discipline.

·Experience: 5+ years in a manufacturing setting with experience in inventory management and warehousing.

·Experience with SAP and or MAPICS preferred.

·APICS Certification Preferred.

·Ability to lead cross-functional teams that drive business results and make data-based decisions.

·Passion and sense of urgency for executing performance improvement projects and leveraging best practices across the organization.

-Demonstrated ability to use, teach and coach others on statistical, analytical, facilitation, and change acceleration tools.

·Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills (verbal and written).

·Extensive experience with Gemba based continuous improvement tools/techniques.

·Hazardous materials management highly preferred.
