Volunteer Coordinator Internship – West Family YMCA

The Treasure Valley Family YMCA strengthens the foundations of community by developing successful youth, engaging people in healthy living, and instilling a commitment to social responsibility. The YMCA’s volunteer program allows people of all ages and walks of life to participate in the large variety of programs the Y offers the Treasure Valley community.

The Volunteer Coordinator Intern will be responsible for identifying opportunities in our current volunteer program including improving tracking systems, increasing accountability measures within the program, and ensuring consistency in the volunteer onboarding process. In this internship, you will work alongside the Volunteer Coordinator to ensure a positive the volunteer experience at the West Family and Homecourt YMCA.

Proposed Starting Session/Semester:

Summer 2017

Key Qualifications:

Interest in supporting community-based organizations.

Familiar with database management and Microsoft Office. Comfortable communicating with groups and individuals. Good interpersonal skills and project management skills.

Additional Requirements:

Students studying Non-Profit Management or related field preferred.

Six to eight hours per week for a minimum of four months, or a sixteen week school semester. Specific schedule to be agreed upon by Intern and Volunteer Coordinator. Flexible schedule and able to work at least one weekend day required.
