Vice President of Information Technology

The Vice President of Information Technology is a senior member of the IT leadership team reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer. This position will oversee all IT Infrastructure & Operations, Application Development, and Business Intelligence & Analytics initiatives to support the Company’s current and future technology needs.

The VP of IT position requires communication, collaboration, and accountability across the organization for all IT initiatives. This position will inspire and build high performance teams that are passionate about technology, dedicated to achieving results, and with strong work ethic.
The Successful candidate will be an influential leader with broad understanding of the wholesale distribution industry, and preferably the wine/spirits business model; must have deep business and technology knowledge, a tremendous customer focus, first-class problem solver, and inspirational people manager.
Responsibilities:
Lead business transformation and growth through the development and support of innovative and cost effective technology solutions
Responsible for promoting technology innovation by identifying and researching new and relevant technologies to support the vision and objectives of the business
Responsible for IT strategic planning, resource capacity planning, and development of an IT applications roadmap
Establishes, plans, and administers the overall policies and goals for the information technology department, deliver timely results, and hold team members accountable
Budget, track and forecast spend, evaluate new technologies, and development efforts (build vs. buy decisions, and hosted vs. on-prem vs. hybrid solutions)
Provide detailed, accurate and timely updates on current Infrastructure and application development activities to the CIO and other business stakeholders
Excellent communication skills – both verbally and written, with ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and across all departments
Lead discussions with business analysts and subject matter experts to understand business needs and processes, negotiate requirements, and architect solution options
Lead the legacy, EDI, web, mobile, BI, and Cloud application development teams including goal setting, performance management, coaching, mentoring and ensuring the teams skills and capabilities are kept up-to-date through training and development programs
Provides leadership to ensure infrastructure, application development and support teams work collaboratively with business teams ensuring architecture, security standards, tracking metrics and continuous improvement standards are adhered to
Plans, initiates, and manages IT infrastructure expansion, maintenance, disaster recovery, security, and business continuity plan
Manages and oversees overall IT resources, priorities, risks, budgets, and ensures department expenditures are contained within established guidelines
Qualifications:
MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or a related field
10+ years’ experience in a leadership role in IT Infrastructure Management, Network Operations, Application Development, and Business Intelligence & Analytics
5+ years’ experience in distribution industry leading software development and 3rd party software implementation projects and post-production support
Experience selecting and implementing ERP solution for mid/large size enterprises
Experience managing all aspects of mid to large IT infrastructure teams, Network Operations, Helpdesk, and managed services
Acts with an appropriate sense of urgency and removes barriers to achieve desired results
Excellent interpersonal, listening, oral and written communication skills with demonstrable ability to interact and communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization
