Vice President of Finance and Operations

Harvey & Company, LLC is a leading buy-side M&A advisory firm that specializes in deal origination and business development strategies and services for our Private Equity and Fortune 500 clients. We’ve been in business for 20 years and have set an internal record for most deals closed for two years in a row and have an established core of professionals poised to keep setting records. We have approximately 65 employees – 40 full time salaried professionals and 30 hourly/part-time.

Position Description:

Harvey & Company, LLC is looking for a VP of Finance and Operations to serve as a leader within our firm to oversee all accounting/finance, information technology and human resources functions of the company and manage a team of three direct reports.The VP will regularly interact with our partners, directors, external service providers, and will report to our CEO. You will oversee five accounting entities, but most of the activity is generated by our main operating entity and our main investment entity. The latter holds equity stakes in 20-30 companies which generate multiple K-1’s per year.

Education Level : Bachelor’s Degree Required; Master’s Degree or CPA highly preferred

Career Level : Senior-Level (5-8+ years applicable experience)

Compensation : $140,000-$180,000 salary + bonus, full benefits

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing and reviewing timely month-end and year-end closes
  • Budgeting, forecasting and financial planning duties
  • Developing and improving all operational processes
  • Partnership Accounting (K-1’s)
  • Deal tracking and reporting
  • 401k Trustee and administration
  • Oversight of all accounting, finance, HR, IT & Operations

Qualifications:

  • College degree from a four-year university is required — CPA and/or Master’s Degree a plus
  • 5-8+ years of progressive accounting and operations responsibilities
  • Previous experience with Private Equity, Sales or other Professional Services organizations
  • Hardworking, organized, and detail-oriented; someone that will take both initiative and pride in their work
  • Polished professional communication skills (written and verbal) are very important
  • Experience scaling operations and accounting functions in a growing business similar to professional services
  • Expertise of QuickBooks Enterprise and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Previous Private Equity Audit/Tax experience is very desirable
